Laser TV: 2009

Despite global economic woes, news continues to trickle in regarding the development of laser tv techology and 3D TV.  The following article from one year ago, recalls SpectronIQ’s foray into the laser tv market, and its plans to introduce a 72-inch model in 2009.  It remains to be seen if any new laser technology will be showcased at the 2009 CES running from January 8-11.  However, you will want to check out Mitsubishi’s booth at South 1/20333 as they will be showing off plenty of 3D TV and 3D gaming on Laservues.

While the reviews for Mitsubishi’s 65-inch Laservue laser tv have been overwhelmingly positive, they have also been relatively sparse.  A 73-inch version was supposed to ship in late 2008, but obviously these plans have changed.  Hopefully more reviews will be forthcoming from this year’s CES.

Who cares. Lazer projectors will trump laser TVs. They burn less electricity, the screen can be made larger than any TV on the market, and with lazers no need for expensive bulb replacement.

It’s Laser, not Lazer. Laser is an acronym which = light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation

The letter “z” doesn’t occur even once in that entire phrase explaing the acronym.

But, with that said, laser tv sounds great, if they can get the price down. Maybe they ought to share the info instead of trying to keep it all to themselves. Competition and mass production would make it commonplace, even as it made DVD players affordable. How far would DVD have gone if it had stayed at over a thousand bucks a unit?

To bad it is produced by Mitsubishi. Used there products and when you have a problem it is a joke to hem. After 38 years in the retail business i have never seen such poor service to their customers. Do not recommend this brand to ANYONE>

You’d think after 38 years you’d know the difference between there and their.
