This label estimates how much energy the appliance uses, etc.</p>
<p><object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="560" height="340" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/mK8vJG9lakQ&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1&amp;" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="560" height="340" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/mK8vJG9lakQ&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1&amp;" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object></p>
<p class="Default">On a separate front, <a title="High quality crystal emitting in the green region" href="http://global-sei.com/news/press/09/09_08.html" target="_blank">Sumitomo Electric</a> has apparently cracked the impossibility of developing a laser diode emitting in the pure-green region at 531nm.<span> </span>They have developed the first “true” green laser diode.<span> </span>Until now, creating a green beam of laser light involved doubling the frequency of an infared laser, which resulted in very poor efficiency.<span> </span>Many predict energy efficient blue, red and green laser diodes will revolutionize the display world, and laser tv may be the first step in this direction.</p>

<p>A few articles recount the tech lounge head-to-head comparison with a Pioneer Kuro.  Read more <a title="Laser TV: First Reviews" href="http://laser-tv.org/2008/laser-tv-first-reviews-2/" target="_blank">here</a>.  I look forward to more direct comparisons with other plasma and lcd models (recently price-reduced) and news on the wider release in 2009.</p>
