Laser TV Release Date

When can I buy a Laser TV?

Laser TV made its North American debut in the Fall of 2008 under the line of Mitsubishi televisions as LaserVue. Mitsubishi recently unveiled its prototype Laser TV at the 2008 CES and the rumors are it will go on sale in time for Black Friday in November. Demo models may be appearing this summer.  Mitsubishi has no plans to debut its LaserVue TV in Europe or Australia.

Mitsubishi Electric LaserVue

Where can I buy a Laser TV?

Mitsubishi’s large screen LaserVue Laser TV will initially be available only at “high-end” Mitsubishi Diamond retailers, so don’t expect to see a Laser TV at your local electronics store until well into 2009. If you live in Europe or Australia, you will probably have to wait even longer, as no plans for distribution outside of North America have been announced.

How much will a Laser TV cost?

A 65-inch LaserVue is available at retailer’s for $6,999. A 73-inch version will be available later in 2008, but pricing has not yet been made available.

Laser-TV.org will keep you posted as more information becomes available.

I can’t wait for the release of a next-gen TV. OLED TVs still aren’t ready for proper retail sale. SED TVs have apparently have fallen by the wayside.

John, LaserVue will be delivered to Mitsubishi Diamond retailers in the third quarter of 2008. Mitsubishi will introduce 63-inch and 73-inch screen sizes, with the 73-inch version available later this year around Christmas. All LaserVue DLPs will be 3D ready.

Norman, I don’t personally know, but I did find this puzzling statement: “However, a Mitsubishi Electric Australia spokesperson said not even the LaserVue was due to arrive in Australia, due to the company’s exit from the consumer television market.”

I’m excited about the new Laservue TVs coming out this fall; however I don’t see myself buying a 73″, or even a 65″ behemoth. Simply put; that would be way too large for my home. I am however, interested in a 46″ or even a 50″ model. So the question is, will Mitsubishi come out with smaller Laser televisions? And if so, what sizes will they be? And when do they hope to release them?

I suffer tech illness and can´t wait to have one of those, but I think it will be just the same as Apple Iphone, they will drop price after a few months, because that’s not the real price. But it really is a revolution on TV technology. Good for you.

Plasma, LCD Laser - WHEN will it end??????

    I’m confused!

I thought that Plasma was the big thing, now I’m told that the later LCD’s are better, now we have Laser TV?? And 3D TV?? This is the first time I’m hearing about 3D! Soon we can walk into the TV?

I want a new TV - but what should I get, or what should I wait for? Okay, WHAT is the next thing out and should I wait for it???

Kaptainess, that would probably be OLED…

Plasma is still the way to go… A will remain so until Laser TV becomes wide-spread… Which won’t be the case for the next 5 years.
